1+1+1=3!

I know it may seem like nothing extraordinary, but I get superbly excited when my kid displays some understanding of the world, applying knowledge beyond instruction.

Today, our Kak Nelly, whom Esther absolutely adores, dropped by as she normally does on Wednesdays to rest before she returns home. Usually, she'd bring over some snacks the neighbours give to her to be shared. This time she didn't.

As we sat chit-chatting, Esther ran to the kitchen and opened the fridge. She wanted to have a drink of Vitagen, I assumed. Now, my little princess loves to share her joy, and would normally carry an extra bottle of Vitagen so that I can have the drink as well (even when I don't want it). What amazed me was that she knew she needed three bottles this time instead of two - for Kak Nelly, me, and herself.

It's simple math, probably even for a three-year-old. But I've forgotten that she's big enough to register the number of people on her own, without needing me to tell her.

Oh, how she grows!

I'm already bigger than Mr. Kisses... Soon, I'll grow as big as Mr. Reese's! :P
